Aims of this session are: a) to offer an update of the most significant clinical facts on fecal incontinence (FI)
(including epidemiology, signs and symptoms) and their implications in thetherapeutic choice; b) to assess the role
of available clinical scores, measuring FI severity, in the diagnosis and prognosis; c) to establish a useful diagnostic
work-up according with the most relevant information given by each diagnostic examination available in a
Proctology Unit.
